DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 9, 2014) – LabStrong Corporation is proud to announce the U.S. Patent Office has issued their patent. U.S. Patent No. 8,721,993 entitled “Magnetic Clamps for Laboratory Shakers” covers technology in LabStrong’s EZ-Clamps. EZ-Clamps are designed to hold flasks and test tube racks on the Helix 150, 150BL, 150BLR and 250 Orbital Shaker.

“This patent is a reminder to our customers that we strive to offer truly innovative and unique products to the lab industry,” said Mark Lockwood, president of LabStrong Corporation. “For years, researchers have been wasting valuable time with the screw down, hard to load flask clamps with overstretched springs and stripped screws. The EZ-Clamps solve this problem by offering single-handed (tool-free) attachment and reconfiguration.”

The LabStrong EZ-Clamps were designed with the researcher in mind. With EZ-Clamps, the days for searching for the right tool, missing fasteners or a compatible platform are gone. EZ-Clamps do not require the use of any tools or fasteners to install. Instead, they powerfully adhere magnetically to EZ-Clamp Platforms. The technology allows for tool-free attachment and reconfiguration of EZ-Clamps in a fraction of the time of traditional clamps.

LabStrong employees are named on multiple patents across a range of products over the last 20 years. “This is just one of many LabStrong patents to come that answers needs of customers,” said Mr. Lockwood. “The issuance of this patent further validates the innovative nature of our engineers and the proprietary methods we use to produce our products.” The newly issued patent is accessible on the USPTO’s website at www.uspto.gov.
